It’s all getting Down to the Bone

I’m excited to announce that I will be showing new work in the upcoming Down to the Bone exhibition at ONCA Gallery in Brighton from 25th September. Seventy five artists including international artists such as Polly Morgan, Rob Ryan and Zachary Walsh are exhibiting work around the theme of dogs.

Continuing my interest in looking at tribes and pack mentality, I researched this specific type of animal behaviour in humans and dogs and how both react when presented with newcomers who might not speak exactly the same language as the established pack. ‘Imposter’ is varnished acrylic and ink on MDF. Giclee prints are also available.

The Down to the Bone exhibition 2013 has been set up to raise funds for street dogs abroad and there is an ongoing programme of events throughout the week. The “Meet the Artists’ night on Wednesday 25th 7-9pm features the specially composed music of Ian Sillett performed live and is an opportunity to meet some of the artists themselves. On Thursday 26th a rally of bikers and scooterists will descend on the gallery at around 6pm bearing lots and lots of dog food which will prove to be colourfully chaotic! On Saturday 28th there will be a presentation at 3pm explaining where all the money raised will be going. And at some point in the proceedings, Dr Who’s dog, K9 will be making a guest appearance!
