My good friend Molly asked me to make an image of a fox for her to use as a tattoo on her inner arm. This is in black and white ink.
I asked another friend who’s a tattoo artist for some advice – it was surprisingly complicated! I had to take into account how the image looked flat and on the arm (in ‘3d’), where the tattoo was going to be inked and the shape and movement of the muscles there. And of course, not to mention that the tattoo will be inked by a tattooist who has their own individual style and way of working so choosing someone whose style is sympathetic to my own is really important.
The image might need a little simplification but the shape should be good apparently. I’m impressed that Molly trusted me to design something for her for life and I’m looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
Beautiful! Your friend is really lucky! You should draw this lovely fox in different positions!
Thanks Ana! That’s really kind!
